This kitchen is very hot and dry because of the stoves and ovens against
the southern wall.  The ceiling is covered in black soot, which was created
by the fires lit under the stoves.  To the west is an open closet, filled
with split firewood.  You can smell many different foods cooking on the
stove, and the ovens are filled with pastries.  The kitchen continues to the
north, south, and east.
