Connecting Lewis Street to the eastern portion of Bastion Road, Birch
Lane was once one of the main streets in the old village.  Mature trees on
either side of the street have boughs intertwining overhead.  Older homes
and shops line the sides of this quaint drive, now a favorite strolling spot
for tourists.  
A janitor sweeps the streets in an attempt to keep the city tidy.
