Virtually all sunlight is blocked by the dense canopy of branches high
above the forest floor.  Although the area is dark, strange pulsating vines
and gigantic mushrooms sprout from every available inch of the ground.  The
foliage is so dense here that you can no longer see the trail you were
following, and the plants block your movement in almost all directions.
