Carved from the stone as a main mining tunnel this area is wider than the
side passages to allow for some storage and a place for miners to take
breaks.  Crates of mined ores are set near the exits to be transported to
the upper levels.  Signs of the main minerals show in the walls.  The
central mine chamber is to the north and the tunnels continue to the east
and west.  
     A small helmet is laying in the dirt here.
     A stick of dynamite sits here waiting to go off.
     A bunch of blasting caps sit here.
