Mindfulness | 241 | –241 | Hellbent Mountain | |
"Search a towering mountain for a quite lonely assistant." In Hellbent, defeat the pit beast to obtain his key. Go to the fire salamander and kill him for his key. Find the armored dragon. You must have the Marks of Fealty and Kindness to pass him. Go past him and up, and take the west path into a tele(port?) room. From there, go north and unlock the north. Go north again to find B'dai, Balthazar's assistant. Go into his room and obtain the mark. "For visiting a lonely and underappreciated clerical, the Powers granted thee a Mark." |

It's fashioned out of the exterior north face of Hellbent, and so is
understandably quite rough. Hot, cinder-filled winds whistle about
violently, but it's all natural. At night, there are no oil lanterns or
candles or bustling adventurers to get in the way. Not even the red-hot
glow of the lava vents penetrate the atmosphere here, leaving Balthazar's
home away from home gloriously light-free. Here, he is free to peer at the
heavens in their purest state. There is no light pollution, although there
are some tribulations for him to arrive here. Despite being one of the
first through the Domain of Arbaces, he has no need to pass through the
labyrinthine passages of Hellbent; after all, he is one of the most powerful
wizard in all of Alyria.
A massive telescope sits in the center of the room.
A middle-aged man with a shock of red hair looks up at you, surprised.
For visiting a lonely and underappreciated clerical, the Powers have granted thee a Mark.

'Hello, Notorious...' B'dai, Balthazar's assistant says to you. 'You're a good soul, to have gotten past my faithful bodyguard.'
'Would you do me a favor?' B'dai, Balthazar's assistant asks you. 'It comes with some personal danger, I'm sure, but it would be worth your while.'
