"Undertake quest #3210 - Worldgates Tutorial - The Mark of Worldgates" "For familiarizing yourself with the world-spanning portals known as Worldgates, the Powers have granted thee a Mark." |
This quest [3210] is called 'Worldgates Tutorial - The Mark of Worldgates',
for Adventurers levels 20 to 250.
This is a TUTORIAL. It provides no rewards, but teaches you about Alyria.
Two moons orbit Alyria, Trigael and Marabah, which academics say are
responsible for the existence of magic in the world. They also control the
mysterious Worldgates, portals which periodically appear in the center of
Circles of Stones around Alyria, depending on the moons' phases.
There are dozens of these circles, and the worldgates that link them
together appear and disappear predictably within them. The circles were
built by an ancient group of druids, reputed to be the first human
researchers into the origins and workings of magic. Worldgates permit
instantaneous travel between them, like walking through a doorway.
Worldgates can link not only two far-off points on a map, but even two
points on different planes, such as between the Faerie Plane and the surface
of Alyria. Other worldgate locations include the Sigil Underground, the
Alyrian Underground, the floating Verity Isle, and the dangerous Ethereal
Void.
The location and timing of Worldgates are predictable, based on the current
phases of Alyria's moons, Trigael and Marabah. You will need to obtain an
almanac of lunar charts to figure out where to go, but once you have them,
they will be a reliable reference for effortless traveling around the world.
Once you have obtained the almanac, you will need to walk towards the
closest of the active pair of Worldgates- and it is entirely possible that
neither will be close, which just means waiting until a closer pair opens.
