You have entered the west side of the central chamber in the temple. 
Just to the east of here is the high altar which is radiating intensely in
magical light.  There are steps that lead up to the high altar on all four
sides allowing access from any direction.  There is seating area here to
accomidate a small crowd of Vandyne worshippers.  Currently, the room does
not have very many people in it.
