You stand at the base of a steep and narrow path leading up into the
mountains.  Tall walls of granite soar upwards and give you a claustrophobic
feeling from their nearness.  You are forced to bend over and lean into the
wind for fear of it blowing you all the way back down to the valley.  The
ground to the north has been cleared of snow by the wind leaving only large
rocks and patches of dangerous ice.
