It is at this point that the melted mountain water from the tops of Mount
Firespit finds its way down and into the main part of the river.  A sluice
of rock has been carved into the side of the mountain by centuries of watery
erosion, much like a slide.  The ride would not be a pleasant one however,
as the crags at the base of the river's mouth, would make for a rough
landing.  Here the river widens as water descends from above.  The majority
of the flow plummets towards the base of Mount Spitfire, but a small
tributary drifts to the southeast, as if drawn by another current.
