Hot air smelling of soot and livestock envelopes you as you enter the
blacksmith's shop.  The gaping orange mouth of a forge roars quietly to one
side, a constant background to the endless clanging of hammers and sparks
flying in the near dark.  The massive smith and his adolescent helper work
without chatter, only shouted orders and reprimands bellowed at the
scurrying apprentice.  Here, equipment is repaired and draft animals shod
for protection against the punishing ice.  
     A large forge roars softly from the shadows, the fire glowing red and yellow from the open door.
The blacksmith swings his hammer, shaping the red-hot metal.
A young giant assists the smith and tends the roaring forge.
