 A number of glowing globes set into iron torchieres have been afixed to
the walls of this stairwell.  The stairway is carved into the very stone of
the earth and is comprised of wide steps leading deep into the earth.  Iron
handrails provide support to those making their way along the stairway. 
Echoes of voices drift up from the base of the stairs.
