You have arrived at an oasis.  The only substantial amount of water and
life in the entire desert.  The air here is very pleasent and much cooler
than out in the sands.  The oasis trickles precious water down into a small
bed, which then flows into a larger, deep, dark pool.  Something looks to be
moving down at the bottom, but, of course, that's impossible.  
     Here is an oasis, giving water to the thirsty traveler.
A creeping watery beast skulks about here, snarling and fuming at you.
