You are standing in the small courtyard of the castle.  Above the door to
your north is a sign with a picture of a dragon's head hanging from a metal
stake dangling over a fire.  Laughter and loud conversation can be heard
from within.  To your east is the entrance to the palace, and the courtyard
continues to your west.  To the south are the stables.  
A castle guard wanders here patrolling the area.
