This dark, looming alleyway has a foul stench to it.  The air is dry and
water flows down the side of the building and along the street to the south.
The dark red brick on the side of the building is beginning to rot away and
fall.  A few rats scurry across the damp ground.  Sounds of rustling can be
heard in all directions.  
A janitor, who seems to be the only one around, sweeps up garbage.
    You sense a hidden life form in the area.
