You have entered a medium-sized room to the east of the spiral staircase
that winds above and below you into the darkness of the clock tower.  A
screen of oak lines the wall, strangely out of place in this chamber, which
beasts and fair maidens are carved into the wood, patterned with mysterious
botanicals, the like of which you have never seen.  
     A massive, ancient iron bell hangs from a thick chain.
