Room: West Avenue
This room is within Palace of Diocletian.
West Avenue - N - (-------------------------------------------------) - <---(M)---> # - S - An engaged sculpture is on the palace wall to west, it is an equestrian figure of a nobleman. The artist has carefully described the costume of the rider, the high saddle, and the trappings of the horse. The porportions of horse and rider are real, although the anatomy of the animal is not quite correct. The horse's legs have been shortened to accommodate an oddly placed pedestal. The avenue path continues north and south, and another cubiculum is to your east. The sliced off tail of a small gray rat is lying here. A slave woman trudges along, carrying her heavy basket of goods.
