A small doorway to your southwest leads into the large eight-sided
church. The structure is centrally planned and consists of two concentric
octagons, the dome-covered inner octagon rises above the surround octagon to
provide the interior with clerestory lighting. Eight very tall stone piers
provide the skeleton of the building, alternating with the apses and
columnar niches.
