Northeast Entrance to the Octafoliate Church - N - (-------------------------------------------------) - <---(M)---> E # - - A small doorway to your southwest leads into the large eight-sided church. The structure is centrally planned and consists of two concentric octagons, the dome-covered inner octagon rises above the surround octagon to provide the interior with clerestory lighting. Eight very tall stone piers provide the skeleton of the building, alternating with the apses and columnar niches.
