Crossing Square Intersection - N - (-------------------------------------------------) W <---(M)---> E - S - Two equally long corridors, or transepts, extend to your east and west. Upon the floor is a large mosaic design, you step back for a moment to observe its naturalism and symbolism. The panel represents the four tetrarchs, and the four corrsponding Orbs of the Ancients. The figures turn from each other in a kind of sharp dialgue of glance and gesture, significant meanings through pantomime. The mosaic floors this section of the nave arcade which continues north and south, and the two transepts that stretch east and west.
