Walking through the long rectangular garden is an experience that cannot
be approximated anywhere else.  The smoothed flagstone pavement walkways
enable pedestrians to cross from one side of the palace to the other without
interrupting the civic life of the residents.  Ingeniously, the palace
planners placed these stones in such a way that they could be straddled by
the wheels of vehicles so that supplies could be brought to the shops,
taverns, and bakeries that can be found in the marketplace.  From here, one
can see the impressive Imperial Residence far to the north.
