Peristyle Garden - N - (-------------------------------------------------) - <---(M)---> - - S - The garden is an oasis in the heart of the palace, an open, airy, strictly dual-parallel rectangular walking area. Throughout the rest of the palace, every available square foot of land is developed, however the garden has been left completely lush and prime. The peristyle garden, which boasts fountains, marble statuary, mural paintings and mosaic floors, provides visitors with a pleasant and cool setting for causal walks and peaceful relaxation. The long garden extends north leading to the Imperial Residence. Some drops of blood are on the ground. The bloody, severed head of a Diocletian commoner is lying here. A rogue bumblebee darts aimlessly around the flower bed. A noble official visiting the palace wanders around.
