The path leads up to and around an old stone well that predates the inn
itself.  When the current occupants decided to construct their inn on this
site, the well was discovered and restored.  To the north is a small wooden
gate, to the west and south are the gardens, and to the east is the entrance
to the chicken coup.  
     There is an old stone well in the middle of the yard.
