Candles set in sconces that are attached to the walls provide all of the
light that there is in the hallway.  There is a modest carpet running down
the center of the hallway, with wooden floor peaking out at the sides of the
carpet.  To the east there is a plain looking room, probably for commoners. 
To the west, there is a much more extravagent looking room more suitable for
the wealthy and persons of nobility.  The hallway ends with a nice portrait
of some gallant looking knight in shining armor posing with a grave
expression and wielding a hefty looking sword.  North leads back towards the
stairs.
