You are in a passage deep within the Ghering Caverns.  The air here is
stale and very dry.  The walls have enough glowing lichen on them to provide
sufficient light for you to find your way around.  Most of the floor is
solid rock.  However, this area also has a layer of soil thick enough to
permit some nasty-looking vines to grow.  The passage runs east and west at
this point.  
A thorny, red-veined vine twines its way around your feet.
