The ledge is wider here than in other parts.  It leads to the southwest
to a staircase carved out of one huge block of crystal.  Glittering light
nearly blinds you.  Perhaps it would be good to be careful when traversing
the staircase.  Your feet slide dangerously on the crystal floor, and you
teeter precariously trying to find a hand hold as you slide slowly along the
floor.
