Ash trees planted seemingly randomly along the side of the road cast
their great shadows over the village of Colyon.  Inhabited by refugees from
the great underground city of Arien'dyth, shadows play a significant role
for the drow citizens of this quiet hamlet.  In the shadowy clearings off to
both the northeast and southwest, there are modest cabins, with shady
porches and smoking chimneys.  The air is alive, populated with the flocks
of chittering sparrows and wafting smoke.  They co-mingle in the heavy air
between the tall trees, which populate much of this sliver of an island.
