You have entered a circular room inside the hedge maze.  Burned into the
floor is a large circle of flames, and various runes and sigils carved by
intense heat.  Small cauldrons of flaming liquid line the circle emitting a
noxious smoke.  The entire floor glows red with heat and magic, making the
air seem to waver.
You see a frighteningly malformed creature, part man and part snake.
