A Semitropical Beach                                   NW     -      -

This stretch of beach is extremely warmer than the rest of the island. 
Lush tropical plants grow tall and thick with creeping vines and a
sweltering heat bathes their greenery.  No paths break through the foliage
though large animals can be heard rustling through the underbrush.  Towards
the south and east the ocean swells and crashes violently against the sandy
shore.  Its waves rise as if in the midst of a tsunami but with no wind to
propel them.  Driftwood blankets the ground, as do the the remnants of small
rafts and makeshift escape crafts that were launched from here only to be
tossed back by the unyielding sea.  
     A piece of coral floats gently here.
The sand dune explodes in a blinding cloud.
A giant sand crab begins attacking you!
