The Gapping Maw of a Subterranean Fissure              -      -      -

As the heavenly light of the surface world enters the gapping maw of this
fissure it throws harsh shadows at peculiar angles all across the rocky
interior.  The well-defined lines between the illumination and shade form
silhouettes of strange animals that appear to reach out towards passersby. 
A tiny subterranean pond has formed as water that flows from the west well
up and drain slowly to the east.
