A blanket of pure snow covers the vast skirt about the mountain.  A
narrow vale runs west around the geyser's mammoth mouth.  In the shallow
apex of the vale a trail is almost visible leading from the island's center
to the dark side of the mountain's face.  
A seagull emaciated with starvation scrounges for food.
The ground rumbles followed by a high pitched hissing.
