A large stairwell glides gently downward to the quarterdeck below.  Its
short, wide steps are set only inches below one another and force those who
traverse them to walk slow and gracefully.  A large red carpet runs the
length of the stair, though its plush threads are frozen solid, giving it
the appearance of an icy blood trail.  The upper aftcastle dominates the
ship to the south and can only be accessed via this elegant riser.
