An ornate stairwell leads down onto the main deck of the ship.  It is a
precarious crossing as it is covered with a slippery patch of ice.  The
railings that lead up the stair and around the forecastle of the ship are
also covered in a glaze of frozen seawater.  To the front of the ship in the
icy darkness can be seen the bow of the boat cradled snugly in the cave
wall.
