Piles of bones corral the area in jagged bleach white walls of decay. 
The stench of death and rotting fish fill the area with an oppressiveness
that is almost unbearable.  Sea birds flock by the hundreds swooping in for
a meal then quickly fly back to their high mountain nests to the north.  An
occasional slapping can be heard as a beached whale vainly tries to turn it
self over to achieve some last bit of comfort before it passes away.  Clouds
of billowing gray vapor cling tight to the sandy ground as they creep by in
blindingly thick gusts.  
A long-tusked sealion with many deep scars basks on the shore.
