You have entered a room about 15'x 15' with a ceiling of about 8'.  The
walls and ceiling and floor are all of the same hard, black stone you've
been seeing all throughout the castle.  The light on the walls in this room
still flicker and make the shadows dance around playfully.  What is most
noticeable is the staircase heading down against the east wall.
