The towne proper of Rune is just over the ridge to the west, but
lifetimes away to the still silence of the forest.  Relatively small, much
smaller than the town itself, it has served as a happy getaway for commoners
and royalty alike for centuries.  While the bustle of the townsfolk and the
traders and the priests and the adventurers dominates the streets and shops,
it smells like pine needles here.  It is quiet and peaceful and calm.  
A plump brown owl perches in one of the nearby trees.
A raccoon peers about, looking for a way out of the forest.
