The thick trees all around open up to the south where the trees thin out
to a clearing.  Some of the tree tops are singed or appear once singed by
fire.  The forest continues to get even thicker to the north and west,
making it clearly impassible by all but a few of the ogres of the nearby
village.  Some footprints in the hard packed dirt make it apparent that
ogres have crossed through in to the thick brush.
