It seems this grassy section of the village was once covered by thick, old
trees.  The ogres of the village cut down this section for wood to build
their huts or perhaps they needed the space for gardening...  Or maybe not.
Ogres are not known to eat much vegetation other than some mushrooms and
occasionally some wild berries.  The forest continues to the south with such
a thickness that makes it impassable.
