This chunk of dirt is a bit more loosely packed than the rocky soil
around it, permitting a brief, cramped spot in which to rest, breathe, and
attempt to navigate.  There is evidence of former passages down here, but it
looks like the moles moved the soil back into the tunnels after they had
gone through them- strange behavior, indicating something wrong, perhaps.
