Energy flows about furiously like gusts of strong wind around the turns
of the diamond forming an invisible barrier.  Magical barriers like this
have been raised to contain experiments and rituals from causing disasters
and to harness all of the power within a concentrated area.  An eerie
glowing light emits from runes sketched all around and rises in a thin
blanket towards the arched apex.  Faint murmurs of chanting can be heard
drifting in from farther along the passage.
