You stand before the Western Gate of the Towne of Rune.  The gates
themselves are made of black iron about a foot thick and are covered with a
strangely detailed grillwork that is lightly painted with a hard enamel. 
You conclude that these gates were not constructed for defense, but as a
ceremonial structure.  Through the gates, you can make out a highway to the
north.  A beautiful white marble bridge rises to the east.
