You are walking along the guard patrol walkway of the Runic Castle.  This
walkway surrounds the castle, making it a vital part of the castle defenses.
The floor here is laid with granite stone blocks, and you can hear footsteps
echoing across the granite as castle guards patrol by on their watch. 
Visitors are discouraged from loitering here, so you better move on!  A
small doorway is to the north, and the walkway continues to the south.  
A private of the guard patrol marches along the walkway proudly.
