This small gravel path is the walkway used by workers going to and from
Mason Lane.  The momentum of the huge blocks of rock moving toward the
cutters made walking on the lane dangerous so the men and suppliers began
walking along this trail, eventually covering it cutting scraps to keep
boots from getting muddy.
