Before the building of the protective wall surrounding Tellerium,
Hatter's Alley was outside town a considerable distance.  Quicksilver used
in the blocking of hats seemed to have a negative effect on the poor souls
working in the hat shops and the villagers demanded the milliners stay well
away from town.  Fortunately, only simple houses occupy this street now.
