Mellowed, time-worn cobblestones underfoot hint at the age of Scrane
Lane.  Part of the original village, the fishermen built their houses and
shops well inland to avoid the ravages of the sea.  Even now the occasional
cottage or small shop remains, remnants of an earlier time.  Cooper Street
leads south to Majestic Way and the Hall of Weapons from here.
