One of the most remarkable structures you've ever seen, the dry docks are
essentially an enormous system of scaffolding built to support the weight of
a ship out of water.  Skilled laborers scurry about replacing timbers from
keels and tarring the exterior surfaces to waterproof the hulls.  When a
ship is finished she is sent down a chute leading directly to the bay.
