Half a dozen clerks assist the queued lawyers wishing to file papers,
look up dates or names or surveys and land descriptions.  The camaraderie
between the clerks and members of the bar is the closest thing to good cheer
one can find in the courthouse, no important decisions are made here, no
wrongs heard.
