The formal reception hall branches west toward the front door, north to
the public rooms of the house and south to the private living quarters of
the Telleris.  Tapestries and paintings line the walls and a hand-knotted
carpet runs the center of the hall, adding warmth to the room as well as
keeping footsteps from echoing.
