Description:

Ice wind, and its partner-spell 'flame wind' are two of the more damaging spells in the game, with the primary differences being that 1) ice wind does cold-type damage, and 2) ice wind cannot be shield blocked. Ice wind is a room-damage spell. If cast outside of combat, the spell hits the first NPC or (in PK) player in the room (except those in the caster's formation), causing cold damage. If the damage is fatal, the character dies and the sheet of ice is reduced in power and continues on to hit the next eligible character in the room, repeating this until the sheet fails to kill a target it strikes and the caster enters combat with that character, or it runs out of power. Cast in combat, ice wind does damage in much the same way as out of combat, but targets are limited to characters currently in combat with the caster. Ice wind can frag items susceptible to cold damage (both in inventories and loose in the room) and cause the standard 'frost' effects (see the frost spell.)
