It is a small book, sandwiched between two thin slats of a well seasoned
wood, bound and covered in a tough black leather.  Painted all over the
cover are faintly glowing concentric oblong circles.  Affixed to each
circle, almost randomly, are small balls, which also glow faintly.  Most of
the pages are covered with strange runes, handwritten in an irridiscient
black ink.  

The book reads:

"De moribus Liviae.  Mercurius et Luna, in signis separatis, discordiam
quandam inter rationalem animae potentiam et sensuum affectus denotant:
verumtamen a Mercurio fortunatissimo adeo Luna debilis superatur, ut omnino
sensitiva pars rationali subiicietur.  Mercurius, morum hic significator,
cum Jove coniunctus benigno Venere sestili aspectu partili, affectus mores
elegantes admodum et laudabiles pollicetur.  Spica quoque, Mercurius
precedens, leporem cum venustate et religione superaddit: erit itaque et
ingenii acumine pollens, docilis, cauta, cum desteritate omnia faciens,
poeta, matematica, sine doctore multa discens, bona imitatrix, cuivis
tempori et personae se accomodans.  De ingenio: Mercurius, in angulo
ascendens fortissimus, ingenium rebus omnibus accomodatum exibet; per
accessum autem ad Jovem sapientia augetur, probitas, simplicitas, eruditio,
prudentia, humanitas.  Sestilis autem Venus alacritatem et gratiam sermonis
et morum mirifice auget.  Caveat tamen ne, ob malum Lunae positum, bene
quidem intelligat, sed male deliberet, atque aliis bene, sibi vero pessime,
consulat".
