A large boulder sets here forcing the river to run sharply around to the
south.  The river and its rocky adversary lie hidden in the deep shade of
sequoias on the southern bank.  The branches of these trees stretch high
above and block out any incoming light from the heavens.  Tiny fish gather
in the darkest shade nudging pebbles in search of food.  This is one of the
most peaceful places in all of the valley, the perfect temperature
instilling a sense of serenity.  The low rumble of the waterfall to the east
can be heard like a soothing baritone chant.
