Ragweed and wildflowers embrace the small volcanic stones that dot this
section of the trail.  Lava chips have been kicked aside of the path and
litter the ground in all directions..  The path winds its way about a rather
large fur pine beset with deep crisscrossing scratch marks.  The thin
western wall of foliage obscures a full view of Lake Whompfish though its
playful waters can be heard quit well.  The southeast boast an even thicker
and lovelier wood.
